A new British Standard cylinder was required in a nightlatch. Also, the electric strike plate required adjusting to ensure the door closed properly. 2 jobs completed and the customer was secure again.
The door was locked and the key had broken off and stuck itself inside the keyway. A gain entry and a nightlatch cylinder replacement was required promptly. Once inside the nightlatch was adjusted/repaired, a new British Standard cylinder was fitted with 3 new keys and now a fully working door.
The keys to the property were not working properly and the spare set had been lost. Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight attended and the customer was safely inside within an hour. The front door lock was upgraded to the British Standard version and the customer was happy to have 5 new keys.
The holiday let property required new thumbturn cylinders on all exit doors. A combination of timber and uPVC doors required egress without the use of a key. All the locks were changed and the new keys handed over to the landlord. All completed in time for the new guests arriving that afternoon.
The doors were out of alignment and required adjusting. The multipoint locking system was difficult to operate as well. Within an hour, the doors locked perfectly. Fully realigned, lubricated and cleaned. The customer was so pleased, they left a lovely 5* review.
The property was bustling with activity when Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight arrived. Electricians, plumbers and carpenters all working around each other. The garage door containing all the customer's belongings (and the consumer unit) was locked without a key. The first job was to gain access to the garage and then change all the locks at the property. The customer was very happy to be able to empty some boxes and be the only keyholders to their new home.
The French doors were jammed shut and the customer couldn't unlock them. They called Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight and within an hour the doors were open and the broken parts were replaced. The customers wanted to upgrade their lock so a new British Standard 1* cylinder was fitted. 'Whilst I was there', another door required some realignment as well.

The customers wanted to ensure they were the only keyholders to their new home. 6 locks changed and upgraded to British Standard 1* protection to increase security. 5 keys per lock with colour coded key tags.
Door not unlocking in Freshwater, Isle of Wight, PO40 - 19th March 2024
The key wasn't unlocking the uPVC door. The handle had become more and more difficult to lift and this action had broken the gearbox mechanism inside the door. After an hour, the door was unlocked, a new gearbox fitted and the multipoint locking system tested. The door now works perfectly.
Customer locked out in Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 - 17th March 2024
The customer had lost their keys and couldn't get back into their apartment. A quick call to and prompt arrival by Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight and the door was unlocked. The building's management company supplied a new lock and this was fitted as well. All completed within an hour!
UPVC door not locking in Sandown, Isle of Wight, PO36 - 12th March 2024
The property was going through some renovations and the rear uPVC door wasn't locking. The gearbox mechanism had failed and the locking system wasn't engaging. The parts were replaced, the full multipoint locking system was lubricated and a new British Standard euro cylinder was fitted. Now, the door was able to be locked and the property secured. All done within an hour!
Holiday Let requiring thumbturn euro cylinders in Seaview, Isle of Wight, PO34 - 11th March 2024
After a fire risk assessment was completed on the property, the findings required the property to have euro thumbturn cylinders on all exit uPVC doors. This aides exit without the use of a key in the case of emergency. Working closely with many island holiday letting companies, Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight replaced all cylinders for British Standard Euro Thumbturn Cylinders. Summer House door not unlocking in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, PO38 - 7th March 2024

Door alignment in Sandown, Isle of Wight, PO36 - 4th March 2024
The customer couldn't lock their front door and called Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight. A common issue with uPVC doors is they become out of alignment and they require adjusting. After all the adjustments had been made, the full multipoint locking system was lubricated and the door locked and unlocked as it should.

The customer had recently moved into their new home and wanted all their locks changing. They wanted to ensure they were the only keyholders to their new home. A variety of mortice locks, euro cylinders and thumbturn euro cylinders were fitted. They preferred the higher security locks we offer and chose to have Ultion 3* Plus euro cylinders and British Standard mortice locks. Now safe and secure in their new home.

Door and locking system adjustments in Bembridge, Isle of Wight, PO35 - 24th February 2024
A couple of sets of timber French doors required some adjustments as they weren't locking properly. The doors were bowed and after some adjustments to the hinges, keeps and locking mechanisms both sets were locking as they should.

The customer had recently moved in their new home and wanted a new front door lock. I was very impressed to see no stacks of cardboard boxes as all their belongings were wonderfully unpacked within a week. Key stuck in the lock of a property in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, PO37 - 12th February 2024
The customer couldn't remove the key from the lock and called Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight to attend. Once the debris was removed the lock worked perfectly and the key would enter and exit the keyway as it should. All fully working again.
Locked out of a property in Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 - 11th February 2024
The keys had been lost and the customers were locked out. The lock required replacing as well. Once the door was open, a new lock was fitted and after a small adjustment to another door the customers were handed their new keys. All done within an hour.

The timber front door had a faulty mortice sashlock and the owners weren't able to unlock the door. Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight attended and gained non-destructive entry. After a new lock was fitted and tested, the owners were very happy with the new keys. After a swap over of tenants, a new front door lock was required to ensure the new tenants were the only keyholders to their new home. The nightlatch was the British Standard version so a new British Standard cylinder was fitted. New keys and a happy tenant, all secure.

To ensure the new homeowners were the only keyholders, new locks were fitted. 5 new keys per lock to distribute to the family and everyone now has their own key. One of the uPVC doors required realigning to ensure the handle was easy to lift and the door would lock correctly.

New thumbturn cylinders required in a Holiday Let in Seaview, Isle of Wight, PO34 - 20th January 2024
To ensure the property complied with fire regulations, two new thumbturn cylinders replaced the locks in the doors. These locks enable the clients to exit the property without the use of a key. Front door not locking in Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 - 16th January 2024
The gearbox had broken and the door couldn't be locked. This was due to a slight bow in the door and as the door was becoming more and more difficult to lock, it finally stopped locking. After a few adjustments, new gearbox mechanism fitted and the door realigned, the door now closes, locks, unlocks and opens perfectly. The customer said "it's never locked as smoothly as that since we bought the house, thank you".

This is a common problem for Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight to solve. When the customer lifted the handles the mechanism broke and the door wouldn't lock. A new gearbox mechanism was fitted, the door was realigned and the full multipoint locking system was lubricated. All now working perfectly.

Timber door lock broken in Fishbourne, Isle of Wight, PO33 - 3rd January 2024
The nightlatch was an older version and after many years of service it had finally worn out. The customer was keen to keep the outside looking as original as possible, so only the inside case was replaced and some adjustments were made to the cylinder and keep. An up-to-date mechanism working with the original cylinder and escutcheon.

New home in the beautiful village of Brighstone. The customer wanted their locks changing to ensure they are the only keyholders. All sorted, new locks, new keys in their new home. One of the doors was fitted with a thumbturn cylinder, just in case a quick exit was required, the customers could safely and quickly exit their home without the use of a key.

The timber front door only had a nightlatch and the customer wanted an additional deadlock to secure the door. A new British Standard 5 Lever Mortice Deadlock was fitted and an extra couple of keys were cut. The new lock ensured the property was compliant to their home insurance policy.

The timber door was becoming difficult to lock and when the key was forceably turned it broke. Some of the key was still inside the lock and that was the only key. After gaining entry, Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight replaced the mortice lock and the door was secure and useable once again.

The customer was finding locking all the doors in their home difficult. After investigating, the issues were not with the locks but with the doors themselves. Each door required realigning, lubricating and after some keep adjustments all the doors worked perfectly.
Garage door difficult to lock in Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 - 24th November 2023
The door had started to become more and more difficult to lock. The uPVC door was only a couple of years old and had become out of alignment. After some small hinge adjustments and some lubrication to the multipoint locking system, everything worked perfectly. The customer was shown how to adjust the hinges just in case it happens again in a few years time.

The door was not locking properly and then after being forced, the handle broke off. After a few adjustments, a new set of sprung handles and a new euro thumbturn cylinder was fitted, the door worked perfectly!

Door alignment required to a uPVC side door. The door wasn't locking and leaving the property unsecure. After realigning the door and showing the customer how to do it in the future, the door worked perfectly.
UPVC door not locking properly in Wootton, Isle of Wight, PO33 - 14th November 2023
After locking the door, it could still be opened by pushing the handle down. A new gearbox mechanism was required to be fitted and the door realigned. Another door was also out of alignment and required adjusting. After a good clean and the multipoint locking system lubricated, both doors were able to be locked securely.
Jammed and locked front door in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, PO38 - 9th November 2023
The handle had been difficult to lift and the key difficult to turn for a while. Unfortunately, the locking system broke and the door jammed. There was another door for the customer to use temporarily. On inspection, the gearbox had broken and the first job was to get the door open. Once open a new gearbox was fitted, new handles and after a good clean, lubrication and a few adjustments the door worked perfectly.
Burglary repair in Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 - 6th November 2023
These things happen and a quick response was required to fix the issue. The door had its locking system damaged and parts were missing. Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight attended the empty business property and secured the door with a temporary locking system and a new set of keys. The landlord was extremely happy the job was done so promptly. The new installed system is of higher grade than the original. The job was in the early hours of the morning and all completed within an hour.

Front door lock upgrade in Freshwater, Isle of Wight, PO40 - 25th October 2023
Changing a front door lock is a common job to do. Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight always gives the customer the option to upgrade the security of their property by offering higher quality locks. This door had a standard non snap safe cylinder and the customer decided to upgrade and have a British Standard snap safe cylinder fitted. This cylinder has coded keys that are only available from the manufacturer.

The customer was moving properties and lost their garage keys. Eventhough this was an issue it was also an opportunity to have a new lock and upgrade it at the same time. Nobody knew how many or who had any spare keys, so it was a good time to change anyway. After gaining access to the door's lock, a new snap safe euro cylinder was fitted which comes with 5 keys.
Keyed alike locks for a holiday let in Cowes, Isle of Wight, PO31 - 4th October 2023
Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight was tasked with a job to replace all external door locks and to have them keyed alike. The same key to open all doors. The holiday let was required to have thumbturn access out of the property. 3 new door locks all with thumbturns and keyed alike were fitted. Thumbturn lock for a holiday let in Cowes, Isle of Wight, PO31 - 29th September 2023
To ensure the holiday clients can access out of the property without the use of a key a new thumbturn cylinder was fitted in the front and back doors. The cylinders come with 5 keys which helps provide keys for the clients, cleaners, agent and landlord. The thumbturn cylinders were fitted into a composite and 2 uPVC doors and have a keyway on the outside and a thumbturn on the inside.
Smart Lock installation in Wootton, Isle of Wight, PO33 - 28th September 2023
The owner of this lovely holiday let requested smart lock technology to manage the front door access. Once the smart lock was installed and the app downloaded the door's locking mechanism is now operated by a key pad, fingerprint, smart phone and remote access. The owner now gives their clients a code which will lock/unlock the door for the duration of their stay. The cleaner/housekeeper also has a code and any access can be controlled by the owner.
Front door on a rented property not locking properly in Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 - 23rd September 2023
These are the jobs that require urgent action. Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight promptly attended this property and removed the broken gearbox from the uPVC door and fitted a temporary overnight locking mechanism. This ensured the tenants were safe and secure in their home. Once the new gearbox arrived, this was fitted as well as a new set of handles.

Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight attended a local holiday park to gain entry to a locked mobile home. Unfortunately, the keys had been lost. After gaining non-destructive entry the locking mechanism was checked to ensure it worked.

The key wasn't fully turning in the lock and the door couldn't be locked. The cylinder cam had jammed inside the gearbox. After freeing the cam, the customer preferred a new thumbturn cylinder in the door to ensure access out could be made if they ever lost their keys inside the house. It is always advisable to have one door with access out without the use of a key just in case of an emergency. After a few door hinge adjustments everything worked perfectly!
Broken key to locked side gate in Cowes, Isle of Wight, PO31 - 14th September 2023
The gate's hinges were faulty and this created pressure on the locking mechanism which caused the key to break. Lockforce Locksmith Isle of Wight firstly gained access to the door, then fitted new hinges and finally a new lock. The customer had another door to access their home, so this wasn't an emergency. More of an inconvenience. After a good clean and a bit of lubrication the locking system worked perfectly. The customer can now use their front door again.

Faulty front door lock to a tenanted property in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, PO38 - 30th August 2023

These very large glazed timber French doors had slightly moved out of alignment and though general use had broken the mechanism inside the door. Firstly, the job was to open the doors and once I did this a temporary lock was fitted to secure the property. A local carpenter was able to realign the doors so I could fit the new locking system. A new multipoint locking system was installed including a new anti-snap lock and the doors worked perfectly. I work with many local trades to ensure the whole job is completed to a very high standard.

There were a few issues with this door that required addressing. The locking system intermittently worked and the door was out of alignment. A snib catch was also faulty. After a few adjustments, lubrication and alignment I managed to ensure the door locked and unlocked correctly. A happy and secure customer.

The doors were lubricated, cleaned and realigned to ensure they worked perfectly.

UPVC front door French were jammed shut in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, PO38 - 26th October 2022
The front door handles wouldn't move and the key didn't fully turn so the door was jammed. It was a glazed door, so the only option was 'glass out'! I was then able to gain access through the door without causing any damage. The mechanism was faulty and the lock was sticking. Out with the old and in with the new. New multipoint locking system fitted and to be sure the property was secure, I fitted a new anti-snap euro cylinder. Glass back in, a good clean up and the job was done.

This job was not an emergency as the customer had safe access in and out through another door. The doors to the garden were the issue. The shootbolts were jammed and not allowing one of the doors to open. A small amount of manipulation to the locking system ensured the doors would open. A quick tidy up and some adjustments to the hinges and the doors were working again. No need to replace the lock, handles or multipoint locking system as some lubrication ensured they were all working perfectly.

A completely jammed door in Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 - 16th October 2022
A uPVC door wouldn't open and the handles were loose. The key wouldn't turn fully either. However, no need to replace the door. I gained non-destructive entry, replaced the faulty mechanism and multipoint locking system, fitted a new anti-snap euro cylinder and finally, replaced the handles. The door looked and worked as good as new after a good clean with uPVC cleaner and adjusting the hinges.

Also, a small adjustment was made to the current nightlatch to ensure the door locked properly. To help install the lock I used my morticing tool which perfectly aligns the drill bit to create the mortice pocket. Nice and neat finish.

A quick turnaround was required to fix this problem as the new tenants were due imminently. The slave door mechanism was faulty and the lock was broken. Also, the front door was difficult to lock. Better to be safe than sorry, the landlord requested both multipoint locking systems to be replaced, a new lock and realignment of the doors as soon as possible. Completed the whole job and distributed the keys as required. Job done prior to the tenants moving in!

I diagnosed this issue as a faulty mechanism and as the multipoint locking system was very corroded a new system was required. Our local locksmith Simon gained entry, non-destructively and diagnosed a faulty multipoint locking system. This was replaced with a new one and tested.
