Euro Cylinders

There are many types of Euro cylinders, they come in a range of sizes, colours, security levels and types. Sizes are all measured from the centre of the lock to each end starting with the external side these come in 5mm increments, for domestic locks usually from 30mm to 60mm.

Colours range from chrome, brass, due chrome and brass and some more expensive cylinders are also silver and gold polished. Security levels vary, a standard cylinder providing no or little protections (at Lockforce locksmiths in Redditch we are a trusted locksmith whom is vetted so we do NOT fit these types of locks that we consider weak). Anti-snap cylinders these provide considerably more protections that a standard cylinder this is our locksmiths minimum level of security cylinder. 1-star British standard this lock has been tested by the British Standard Authority to say they this lock meets the requirements they set for a Euro cylinder

Our final option is a TS007 3-star British Standard Lock. This is the Brisant Ultion lock and it provides the ULTIMATE protection and is even guaranteed for £1000 against snapping and a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. This lock is by far the highest security lock currently on the market.

There are different types of Euro cylinder locks available including:

• A Euro cylinder standard lock with keys both sides of the locks
• a thumb turns this is where a key is required from the external side but there is a thumb turn on the Inside meaning there is no requirement for a key
• A half Euro this is usually in garage door locks or where the door only requires entry from one side only and even in padlocks

Today we attended a property where the customer explained the door handle hadn't felt right in a long time. They kept putting it off, as although it required a certain knack to get it open, it did open and could be used. We attended and gained entry to the property through a side door, using non destructive means, and then was able to open the front door lock from the inside. The Tale of Incorrectly Cut Keys - Webheath, Redditch, B97, 16th January 2020

There are so many options on the high street to get spare or duplicate keys cut, and for a reasonable price. However, as we saw this afternoon, these aren't always executed as well as they should be. Lockforce Locksmiths Redditch were called to a home in Webheath where the homeowner had gone on holiday and provided a spare set of keys to a friend to look after their pets while they're away. However, the friend was unable to use the keys as they jammed and wouldn't work. We were able to extract the key and gain entry to the property using non-destructive means, where we found an original spare key, and could clearly see examining them side-by-side, that the duplicate high street cut key was never going to work. Lockforce Locksmiths Redditch attended a small convenient shop in Feckenham this morning after a break in. The thieves gained entry by forcing the front door, which didn't have the strongest of locks. Lost Keys to Bifold Doors - Redditch, B80, 19th July 2019

Lockforce Locksmiths Redditch were called by customer who had lost their keys to their bifold doors. We sucessfully managed to get door open and temporarily replaced the lock with our standard anti snap lock. The customer wanted to order high security Ultion locks, which we were more than happy to support them with. We ordered and installed three Ultion locks, replaced one door handle and adjusted the sliding doors and bifold doors to ensure they all work properly.

Faulty smartlock in Redditch - 30th June 2019

Lockforce Locksmiths Redditch were called out to a lovely couple having difficulty with a smart lock they had purchased. After some checking, we found there was a fault with the new lock, so we put the door back together again with original lock, so they're now safe and secure again!

Today I was called to a new shop in Redditch, they wanted their locks changing as they were unsure who had old keys. Lockforce Locksmith Redditch attended same day and changed the locks to British Standard BS3621:2007 5 lever mortice sashlock with 3 keys. The customer was very happy.

I recently carried out a security survey at a house in Redditch. After going over what options were available to them, they decided to go for a British standard, insurance approved lock. I fitted it while I was there and was happy leaving the family knowing they were considerably more secure, and insurance compliant.

I attended a house recently where the rear door mortice latch wouldn't unlock. After some investigation, I worked out the mechanism had completely failed. I managed to get it unlocked and replaced it with a new British standard 5 lever lock. One very happy customer, as they could now get into their garden!
