Fire door repair in Chelmsford - 05/12/2023

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in by a local sainsburys who had issues with one of their fire exit doors. Door would not stay closed once shut. We arrived to find a few of the fixings not secured correctly and was very surprised door was only 3 weeks old. We repaired the loose components and re fitted the keep to prevent the door from opening by itself.

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in by a local customer who couldn’t unlock their front door from both inside and out. Luckily, customer had a secondary door to their house so wasn’t locked out. Shortly after arriving we managed to unlock the door via the inside. We examined the faulty nignt latch and realised a small part had snapped internally. Luckily since this part has been removed the night latch operates as it should so no immediate replacement was necessarily.

Obsolete door lock service - CM1 - 24/08/2023

Lockfodce locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in by a repeat customer who had issues with their rear door. The door in question had an obsolete mechanism installed and therefore if a replacement was needed an alternative option would be needed. Luckily we managed to repair the mechanism, give it a good clean and its back to good locking order. Before leaving we measured the current mechanism, sourced an alternative replacement and quoted customer if they decided to replace it in the near future. 

Gearbox replacement - CM1 - 28/07/2023

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was called out by a local customer who couldn't lock their front door. We arrived to find the gearbox had completely worn out and needed replacing. We replaced the gearbox like for like there and then. Customer also wanted us to take a look at an internal door. Customer had removed the handles and latch and bought replacements. We installed the new handles and latch for customer.

Nightlatch installation - CM2 - 25/07/2023

They had one previously but needed a new one as they was putting house on the market. We installed a new nightlatch and upgraded the rim cylinder for the customer to a british standard rim cylinder. 

Front door repair - CM2 - 04/07/2023

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was called out by a worried customer who couldn't lock their front door. We arrived within 30 minutes of the call and immediately knew the centre case had become faulty. We took the multipoint lock off, gave it a good service and replaced the faulty centrecase like for like there and then. Customer very grateful we came out and repaired it before they went to sleep so they can now sleep peacefully.

Lockforce Locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in by a customer to change their porch door lock and main front door lock as they had recently moved in. We first changed the porch door lock which originally had the incorrect size in and then looked at the front door. We replaced the old cylinder for a new anti snap cylinder. Customer had then said they have been unable to lock it since moving in. We noticed the front door had wrong sized handles on with a short spindle. We have since booked the customer in for a further visit to install new handles and to have a look at the rear door.

Chelmsford locksmith downgrades smart lock to standard lock and handles - CM2 - 05/03/2023

Lockforce Locksmiths Chelmsford were booked in to remove a Yale Conexis smart lock and replace it with normal chrome handles and a new cylinder. The customer was unhappy with the smart lock after getting it installed by another locksmith. We arrived within 30 minutes and noticed a grub screw missing from the latch keep. We realigned the keep and added a grub screw to keep it secure. Customer was now able to lock their door smoothly and close their door without it bouncing back open. 

New handles - CM4 - 23/01/2023

Having previously replaced a lock on their rear door, the customer has needed to use our services again to replace the handle on the rear door after becoming faulty. We analysed the lock and knew the lock and mechanism was in perfect working order but an alignment was needed to lock the door when its in the closed position. We arrived and noticed all that was wrong with the handle is that it was loose and needed tightening. Customer was relieved the handle did not need replacing altogether.

New night latch installation in Chelmsford - 05/01/2023

Lockforce Locksmith Chelmsford was booked in to replace a customer’s night latch. We arrived on agreed time and began work straight away. The old night latch was extremely old and therefore not available for purchase anymore however we had an alternative for the customer which they were very happy for it to be installed. New gearbox fitted for rear door of property in Chelmsford, CM1 - 03/01/2023

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in by a local estate agent to repair a rear door of a landlords property. We arrived at agreed time and got to work immediately. The rear door was failing to lock due to having a faulty gearbox and due to door being out of alignment which had caused the gearbox to fail in the first instance. We arrived at our booked time despite roads being extremely dangerous due to heavy snow. We replaced the rim cylinder and adjusted the positioning of the keep so door can smoothly open and close.

Handle repair in Chelmsford, CM1 - 07/11/2022

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in to repair a customer’s front door as they complained it would not lock from the external. After speaking to the customer prior to the visit we believed it was a gearbox issue however on arrival we could see the handles were faulty and not allowing the external spindle to turn to the lock position. We removed the handles and installed spring cassettes to each handle to allow the spindles to remain secure and allow movement to turn and lock the door. Customer was extremely happy knowing the fault was not as severe as they first thought saving money in the process.

Multipoint lock alignment - CM2 - 25/10/2022

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was called out to a customers home who had problems locking their rear door. The customer had a previous locksmith replace the multi lock point on his rear door. After they charged the customer a fortune the door still couldn't lock. We arrived within 10 minutes of the call. Customer explained the situation and we quickly noticed the multipoint lock was not installed correctly and needed realigning. After taking the multi point lock off the door we reinstalled it correctly and now the door was able to lock as it should have.

5 lever motice lock installation - CM3 - 22/10/2022

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in by a lovely lady who was going through a tough break up and just wanted their front door locks changed. The door was extremely old and delicate so we had to show it some respect. We removed the old mortice lock and noticed the new 5 lever mortice lock was bigger then their old mortice lock. In order to fit the new one in we delicately chiseled enough for the new lock to be installed. Customer was extremely grateful we agreed to the job as many locksmiths had turned her down because of the age of the door.

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was called out to a home who couldn't unlock their front door from the external. Luckily they could get in via the side door. After a few tweaks on the mechanism we was able to unlock the door from the external. We also helped pair the lock to the app and fobs.

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was called out to an elderly customers house who had trouble locking their rear door. They assumed it was the lock or mechanism that had become faulty however when we inspected the door we noticed the door was sagging slightly therefore a simple adjustment on their flag hinges was all that was needed. Door was very tricky to open due to a faulty gearbox inside however 20 minutes later we was in. We removed old gearbox and replaced it like for like there and then. We also installed a new anti snap cylinder as an upgrade to their original lock.

Gearbox, cylinder and handle replacement - CM1 - 03/10/2022

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in to a house where they had troubles with their patio door. The latch was unable to retract keeping the door closed and unable to open. After managing to open the door we assessed the multipoint lock and noticed the gearbox was worn out and needed replacing. The cylinder had also seen better days which had contributed in the failure of the gearbox. After replacing the gearbox and cylinder customer also wanted to replace the handles which we did. Door now closed, opened, locked and unlocked as if it was a brand new door.

Side door keep repair - CM1 - 27/09/2022

The door was able to lock and unlock however the door would bounce back off the frame when the door closes. We noticed the keep for the latch was snapped off. Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was booked in by a couple who were very stressed as their back door had trouble locking! The customer were due to go on their honeymoon the following day so understandably did not want to leave their door as it was whilst they was away. Luckily for them we arrived, assessed the door and completed the job within an hour. New gearbox installed for customer as old one had ceased. Customer can now be on their honeymoon knowing their house is safe.

Lockforce Locksmiths Chelmsford was called out by a gentleman who had a faulty nightlatch. On arrival we noticed the customer had removed the nightlatch and rim cylinder from the door. After assessing their current night latch we noticed the rim cylinder was in perfect working condition and that the nightlatch needed replacing. We suggested keeping current rim cylinder because not only was it in perfect working condition, it also went better with the current features of the door. New nightlatch and keep installed. Happy customer!

Key removal and entry gain - CM2 - 25/08/2022

Lockforce locksmiths Chelmsford was called out by a home owners cleaner who couldn't open the front door due to key getting stuck in the door. Luckily she was able to gain access via back entrance. We arrived within 35 minutes. After minimal effort our magic hands managed to remove the key with no damage to lock and open the door via the thumbturn on the internal. After assessing the lock, we realised the lock was in perfect working order and that the only issue was the spare key that was used was not correctly cut causing the key to get stuck.

Replaced euro cylinder and installed an overnight lock so customers were able to lock their back door and be able to sleep knowing they are safe and secure.

Lockforce Locksmiths Chelmsford was called out to a Sainsburys superstore in need of two entry gains of their tills. The store needed quick access to tills in order to cash up before closing and so the response was super quick and entry was gained with time to spare.

Thumbturn euro cylinder installment - 16/07/2022

Lockforce Locksmiths Chelmsford had the pleasure attending a house in Harlow where the customer was complaining how their key kept spinning in the lock before finally opening after many attempts. Explained all was needed was a euro cylinder change. Customer also wanted a thumbturn euro cylinder so installed an anti snap thumbturn euro cylinder as requested.
