Choosing the Right Safe - What to Consider?

1. Usage environment – Home or office? Fixed to floor or hidden wall cavity? Will you bolt to a concrete floor?


2. Grade & security rating – our range offers grades from Eurograde/EN 1143-1 levels (Grade II, III, IV, etc) through to situations requiring very high ratings (cash or valuables). For example, Grade III: “Cash Rating £35,000 or Valuables Rating £350,000; Fire Resistance 60 minutes”.


3. Size & capacity – Consider what you’re storing now and future growth. For examples: a 35 L safe (15K size) or much larger 500L units.


4. Locking type – Key only, digital keypad, dual locks, electronic + key. Decide level of access and convenience.


5. Fire rating – Many units rated for 60 minutes for paper media. If you have digital media or archival material you may want higher spec or specialist rating.


6. Fixed installation & anchoring – A safe that is simply placed on the floor without anchoring can be vulnerable. Professional installation ensures correct fixings.

What grade do I need?

It depends on value you’re storing, risk profile, and insurer requirements. We can survey and recommend the correct grade (e.g., Grade II, III, IV) for you.

How much does installation cost?

Cost varies with safe size/weight, location (stairs/upper floors may add cost) and anchoring required. We’ll provide a transparent quote including delivery & installation.

Can the safe be moved later?

Yes, but large safes are heavy and typically bolted. Relocation requires professional removal and reinstalling. We can assist with that.

What if I lose the key or forget the code?

With digital locking we supply reset procedures. With key locks we recommend a spare key in secure offsite storage. Maintenance service is available.

Do I need fire protection if I already have an alarm system?

Yes - alarms deter/reveal intruders, but fire-resistant safes protect contents when fire breaks out. Our units offer certified fire resistance ratings.
