Locked out in Tonbridge, TN12 - December 2022
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge were called out after a couple found themselves locked out of their home. We attended within the hour and began our inspection. On inspection, the front door had two locks; the one, a Nightlatch unit, which functioning fine and the second, a mortice lock, which was causing the problem. The bolt was not retracting, and the key would not turn. Attempts were made to gain entry via two other doors, but these both had keys in the cylinder on the inside and short of destroying one unit to gain entry, these were not an option and attention was again turned to the problem lock. Eventually, using a combination of tools, the Mortice unit was unlocked and entry was gained, without the need to damage anything. It was discovered that the door is slightly distorted, leading to the lock-bolt trapping in the keep. The lock unit had become problematic and would need replacing. It would also be necessary to take away some of the material of the keep, to allow the bolt to work freely. We returned to the property and fitted a replacement British Standard Roller-Bolt Sashlock was obtained and fitted. The required clearing out/polishing away of part of the keep was carried out and the unit was tested by Locksmith and client and was working fine.
Stolen car and house keys in Tonbrigde, TN9 - November 2022
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge had an emergency call out to attend after a client phoned to say his car had been stolen, with house keys inside. He therefore wanted to change the front door lock as a priority. The Rim Cylinder of the front door's Night latch unit was changed. A straightforward enough job.

Sticky night latch in Tonbridge, TN12 - October 2022
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge took a call from a client who reported issues of their Nightlatch sticking. The Nightlatch unit was scraping against the side of the door frame as it had been fitted very closely and with the current damp weather, the frame or the door had moved slightly, causing the issue on two doors. It was decided to polish some of the woodwork on both doorways, to ease the passage of the Nightlatch units, plus, to service both units. This was carried out successfully and both doors and their lock units were restored to proper function in that regard. It was noted on the front door, that the base of the door is degrading because of the damp. A crack is evident, which allows water ingress to cause the problem. The crack in the door needs to be caulked. However, this will only be effective once the door dries out and the filler is able to adhere properly to the wood. Client had also requested that the front door handle set be changed, as the existing one is sagging.This has been ordered.
Extracting snapped key from lock in Leigh, TN11 near Tonbridge – August 2022
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge was called out after a man had snapped the key in the lock. Using a series of tools specifically, hooks,& extractor wind-in unit, the broken piece of key was extracted and the door was back working and new keys supplied.
Entry gain for homeowner locked out in Tonbridge, TN9 – July 2022
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge attended an emergency lock out situation in Tonbridge. The unit was a Euro cylinder with lift lever handles. We were able to gain entry non-destructively and retrieved the key on the inside of the door. A simple lock out solved and another client back in her home.
New locks fitted for stable and French door set in Matfield, TN12 – July 2022
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge were called to inspect two problematic doors on a property in Matfield. On inspection, both cavities containing the lock units, required some attention. The bedroom stable door had split just below the lock. Screws were inserted to reduce the opening of the split. This was only moderately successful, as the woodwork is very dry and inflexible. Nonetheless, the gap was reduced marginally. The French door unit required some 'excavation' to fit both lock and keep. In the Stable door, a 2-lever lock was removed and replaced with a 3-lever unit. In the French Door set, 5 lever unit was removed and replaced with a TSS 5 Lever BS unit. Another happy customer.
Key stuck in lock of family home in Tonbridge, TN10 – 20/05/2022
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge received a call from a new client after their daughter had snapped the key in their back door. The family still had access via the front door nonetheless we attended within 20 minutes. We surveyed the door and made the decision to remove the old lock and fit a new one. The door was all functioning fine from that point and the family were very happy.
New gearbox unit fitted to door in Tonbridge - 12/05/2022
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge took a call from a client who had been quoted to replace the gearbox of his front door's MPL after the previous visit and had called to request that the job be done. The existing MPL unit was removed from the door, gearbox removed and replaced with the new unit. This was then tested by ourselves and client and everything was working well.

Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge received an early morning call from a man who had just returned from dropping his child at school to realise that he had shut his front door with the key in the lock. Despite having a spare key, because of the blockage imposed by the internal key, it would not enter the keyway fully and the door could not be opened. We attended and made a couple of attempts via traditional conservative methods and then made use of the ‘Letterbox Tool’. Entry was successfully achieved after about 10 minutes. The client was happily able to commence their working day.
Door realignment for family home in Tonbridge, TN12 - 21/02/22
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge was called out to help a family’s home in Tonbridge after the back door of their property was not operating well. We attended within 20 minutes and inspected the problem. We identified straight-away the issue was in relation to door alignment and the lock/mechanism was working fine. We made some corrections and realigned the door making some adjustments to the door hinges. These have now been fully adjusted to compensate for the misalignment of the door and now everything is operating well.
Locked storage container in Tonbridge, TN12 - 12/02/22
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge were called out by a manager of storage container site in Tonbridge. The commercial site had been raided by police after a tenant of 2 storage containers had been storing illegal goods. The manager wanted our help unlocking one of the storage containers. We arrived and we greeted with a manager holding a bag containing 300+ keys. We attempted to gain entry however this could not be achieved on this visit. The following day we were due to reattend however the manager had found the key. Steel storage container now open. We had a final conversation with the manager and he is due to call us back to fit some new door locks at his site.

Entry gain for lady locked in bathroom in Tonbridge, TN9 - 22/10/21
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge received an urgent call-out to attend a ‘Lock-In’ situation. The client’s wife was stuck in the bathroom. A component on the door handle had broken and the door sash-bolt would not retract. The client had already attempted to work on the door handle etc, without success. We were able to establish that the spindle holder in the latch had fractured and was blocking the path of the sash-bolt. We were able to remove the offending piece and retract the bolt manually, freeing the lady. Because the sash-bolt operated with spring tension, the problem would have immediately reoccurred and therefore we removed the mechanism to avoid this happening. The client, as a handy-person indicated that he would source a new latch unit and fit it himself.
Front door sash was jammed & door would not open in Hildenborough, Tonbridge – 06/09/21
Lockforce Locksmith Tonbridge after much effort & trying to use ‘conventional’ means, with the client’s permission and encouragement, we were able to use my angle grinder to cut through the sash, to open the door. On evaluation, as We had suspected, a piece of the lockset had broken off inside the gearbox & had jammed the works. We changed the MPL’s gearbox and now problem rectified.
