Existing Thumbturn with no key in Sevenoaks, TN14 - August 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks took a call from a client requesting assistance in providing and fitting a new lock cylinder. The existing Thumbturn unit was without a key and requiring to be removed. The door was open, so access was not an issue. This was a straightforward removal of the existing Thumbturn unit, for which there was no key and of fitting a new Versa Anti-snap unit.

Door could not be opened in Sevenoaks, TN16 - August 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks took a call from a client requesting assistance after the lock-bolts on their front door MPL were not disengaging from the keeps. On inspection, the door was unopenable. Not only were the two lock-bolts not disengaging from the keeps, but the Sash-bolt was not fully retracting. there was no full response to the action of the door handle being operated. We were able to get the lock-bolts to retract and was able to open the door. The Thumb drive cylinder unit was removed and found to be sticking somewhat. It was suggested and accepted that this be replaced. The MPL was removed and after a thorough lubrication, was found to be in operating order. There was a fair amount of wood dust and particulate in the gearbox ant on the MPL. This was all cleaned off. Recommendation was to retain the MPL as it was functioning, which was accepted. Adjustments made to the keep in the door jamb to facilitate smoother locking of the cylinder and the MPL and lock was working smoothly.

Fault lock on property door in Sevenoaks area fixed, TN16 – August 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called to a property after an issue with a faulty lock. After our inspection we noted that the door required some more unique parts to solve the issue. The existing Rim Lock was removed and replaced with a new unit, together with the brass knob set which the client provided.  A TSS British Standard 5 Lever Dead Lock was fitted into the door (Fresh Fit) and the client's Escutcheon was fitted to the outer side of the door. We tested the locks along with the client and all were working well.

Snapped key extracted in Sevenoaks, TN13 - July 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called to a client’s property after being sent a report of a someone snapping a key off in an internal door lock and requested our assistance. The broken off section of the key had fallen inside the lock body and was not retrievable. After some probing to clear the keyway and after many attempts, the locksmith was able to open the lock by means of the try-out key sets. Thereafter, locks were swopped between 3 doors, so that the main bedroom was lockable and two other rooms that were of less concern to the owner which were left with working handles.

New lock after night latch failure in Sevenoaks, TN13 – July 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks carried out an inspection of a BS ERA Nightlatch, with keyway protection and a reinforced Escutcheon. The nightlatch had failed leaving the owner of the property locked out. We attempted to pick the lock, but this proved futile and the decision was made to drill out the unit. Once we had the door open, we replaced the lock with a rim-cylinder which was fitted in an temporary facility, while a new Escutcheon and bright chrome cylinder were ordered for a follow-up visit

Unlocking roofbox in Sevenoaks, TN13 – July 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called out to help a gentleman unlock a roof-box mounted on top of his car. Two locks needed opening and with no keys available and the locks too complex to pick we drilled out the locks. The client was very happy and relieved to have his roof-box open.

Double lock change, front and back door in Cranbook, TN17 – July 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were contacted after a client required two lock cylinders to be changed. This job was made more challenging as the front door lock's locating screw was stuck in the MPL. Once we had gained entry we successful replaced the front door lock and back door lock. Another very grateful client.

Forced entry by resident required new lock and restoration for flat door in Sevenoaks, TN13 – 20th May 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks carried out a callout this evening after a property owner had lost theirs key and then forced entry into their home. We attended as soon as possible and found the door and lock had been quite damaged in their process of entering. They were fine for access as they had a deadbolt lock for the door. To resolve the damage and restore the door and lock to its original condition we initially went away and ordered the necessary stock as they client desired a chrome nightlatch fitted. There was also damage around the door which needed to be fixed. We ordered a chrome night latch unit which we modified in our workshop. With all the parts in our possession we went back and fitted and repaired parts of the door a few days later at a time of convenience of the client.

Key stuck in lock needed extraction in Sevenoaks, TN14 - 10th May 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called out after a client had got her front door key stuck in the lock on the inside of the house. Fortunately the door had been opened initially and this was not a 'Lock-out' situation. On investigation, it appeared that the issue was one of a 'Cam-jam'. The MPL's faceplate was removed from the door. The lock's Cam was accessed through the face of the unit and was successfully released, allowing the lock to function freely again. MPL was reassembled and returned to full functioning. Tested by locksmith with the client. The Cam-jam had been brought about by a simple factor of overly robust action in locking the door and operation of the door handle. and we explained to client how to avoid repeating this..

Entry gain for resident locked out of his home in Sevenoaks, TN13 – 20th April 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called out for an emergency lock out situation in Sevenoaks. The local resident had left the house and mislaid his set of keys. He called us and we were able to attend within 20 minutes. We were able to gain entry in a matter of minutes and had the client back inside his home. Another very grateful client.

Local couple locked out of property in West Kingsdown, Sevenoaks, TN15 – 10th April 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks carried out an emergency callout for a local couple who had shut their front door to leave their house but had left the keys on the other side of the door. We were working in the nearby area so were able to attend within minutes of their call. A simple job while on site, we gained non-destructive entry and had the door open quickly. The couple were very relieved and thanked us for our speedy service.

Survey for intermittent door lock failure in Sevenoaks, TN13 – 3rd April 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks attended a job this week for a residential client who reported having intermittent problems with his front door. The lock appeared to be sticking in operation. We surveyed the lock unit and identified some failings. We recommended a new lock due to the wear and tear over time on the existing unit. The client accepted so we fitted a new high security lock which we were able to source from stock on our van. We are able to source and fit a range of locks to fit your needs and requirements.

Steel security door jammed shut in Sevenoaks, TN14 –  22nd March 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called out to help an office worker who was struggling with a steel security door which was proving difficult to lock and unlock. We attended within the hour to assess the situation and see what we could do to help. As we were testing the door it truly jammed shut in the locked position. After manipulating the lock we finally freed a broken part which we were then able to replace. With the new part fitted the door was back in fully working order and the office worker was grateful to be able to lock and unlock the door with ease.

Back door repair in Sevenoaks, TN13 – 7th March 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called by a gentleman who requested our attendance to help fix their back door, which was open, but in the process of closing it, the handle and lock had stopped functioning. On examination, it was determined that the gearbox had failed. This would need to be replaced and for practical reasons, so too, would be the rest of the door’s MPL, which would need to be ordered. As a temporary measure, an overnight lock would need to be fitted, to secure the premises. A few days later, the MPL was delivered and successfully installed and after the door’s alignment was corrected (which had caused the initial problem) and adjustments made to the doorway structure, the door was returned to full functioning.

Codelock door repair and service for commercial site in Sevenoaks, TN13 - 21st February 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks was called out to help a commercial client with a problematic code lock door. We attended within half an hour and assessed the door and lock unit. We recommended that we carried out a service of the existing lock and avoid the potentially unnecessary need to buy a new replacement code lock. We then removed the lock unit from the door, opened it up and lubricated some parts. This was carried out on both the outside pushbutton unit and the internal lock unit. Once done, the unit was re-assembled on the door and tested with the door both open and closed/locked and was functioning perfectly. We sent some videos to the client and highlighted the code lock was back working with no problems.

Key not slotting into lock in Sevenoaks, TN15 - 4th February 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks received a callout from a national client Brisant to help a customer struggling with an Ultion lock. We attended the same day and identified the Ultion lock was working fine however the keyway itself was slightly raised and causing an issue with the escutcheon cover. The door company will be reattending the next to resolve the issue. The tenant was very happy with our service and glad the issue was not relating to the lock itself.

Lost keys and locked out of home in Sevenoaks - 27th January 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks received an emergency telephone call in the early hours the other day from a local tenant in Sevenoaks who locked themselves out of their appartment after leaving their keys in the door. We were near and attended at their earliest convenience to assess the lock. For a qualified locksmith there was a quick solution. We carried out a non-destructive entry by unlocking the door from outside the home. Once the client was safe and inside, we recommended a lock upgrade to a high-security anti-snap cylinder which they chose to get installed for added security. The client was thankful to be back inside their home and for the fast response.

Locked out with house keys locked in the car in Sevenoaks, TN14 – 05/01/2022

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks received a call from a client who had found themselves locked out of the house on a cold morning, with a baby. The client had mistakenly locked the keys in the car. Fortunately, we were able to attend very quickly and there was sufficient play to insert shim cards to manipulate the latch to release. The client was back in the house in 20 minutes….Everyone snug and warm.

Callout for lock out in Sevenoaks, TN13 – 03/11/2021

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks was called out to attend a lock-out at the client’s home. On inspection, the euro style lock was fitted to a beautiful wooden door and the lock itself, partially obscured by an Escutcheon plate. We discussed the issue with the client and we agreed that since his wife was going to return home within the next 2-3 hours (with a key) and also given that he had a very comfortable office in his front garden, that he work there and ‘wait it out’ for the relatively short while, rather than incur unnecessary cost in gaining entry in a destructive manner.

Doors and lock repairs for property in Sevenoaks, TN15 - 22/10/2021

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks received a late afternoon call reporting two doors with problematic locks/handles. Client asked if I could replace the two locks. The first issue was a tight turning of the key in the lock, which the client couldn’t manage. We were able to open the lock and establish that the twin door set’s alignment was off – therefore, not a lock problem. We adjusted the alignment and was able to get the lock functioning smoothly again (so no need to replace the lock). We suggested to the client that they get a key cover, to give the key ‘more bulk’, which would offer a greater grip and therefore, easier use. The second door’s handle set, which the client had tried to work on, it transpired, that the sash-bolt had come away from its mounting in the gearbox of the MPL unit and was jamming the operation of the handle. We were able open the door by means of a spreader tool but from there we discovered that the screw holding the sash-bolt in its place, was missing which had led to the problem. Fortunately, we had a longer screw in my tool box, which we were able to cut down to the required length, re-fit the sash-bolt and make the handle set operable again. The door’s lock was also sticking/hesitating when being operated, which the client was prepared to have changed. It was established though, that the alignment of this door, too, was off, leading to the knock-on problem with the lock. The relevant adjustment to the alignment was carried out  and the lock became fully functioning again. No need to replace the lock. Both problems dealt with at a third of the cost of replacing the locks.   

Fixing floppy door handle in Sevenoaks – TN15 - 16/10/21

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks received a call from a client who mentioned that their kitchen door handle had that ‘flopping’. We were told a handyman had attended already but could not resolve the issue so they wanted to call upon the services of a professional. On inspection we found that the problem emanated from the gearbox of the MPL within the door. A component internally had worn or broken and the handles no longer returned properly to their position once being opened. In addition, the Euro lock itself also seemed trapped in the gearbox. On stripping the unit, we discovered that the gearbox itself appeared to have been fitted marginally too low in the door itself and the cylinder was resting on the base of the cutout in the door frame, thus, despite being unscrewed, it was simply friction that was preventing it from being removed from the door & gearbox. We routed out a tiny bit of the door where the Euro had been resting and replaced the MPL itself, which allowed the cylinder to be re-fitted easily. New door handles, updated to white finish, at the client’s request. The existing cylinder was in perfect working condition, so was cleaned up and lubricated and re-fitted. The client was very happy with the new, updated finish and functioning.

Door lock fix and new door handles in Sevenoaks, TN25 - 10/10/21

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called out to help out with an issue with a PVC back door lock for couple’s property. We were told a handyman had tried to fix the lock but could not find source of fault. We attended and striped the lock and identified the source of the problem with the lock. From there we identifed the new parts required and placed the order with our supplier. Usually we can find the specific parts to your locking mechanisms no matter how dated they are. The same week we returned and installed the new mpl and new door handles.

Fixing patio doors in Sevenoaks - 24/09/21

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks attended a same day callout to fix some patio doors at a home in Sevenoaks. The issue was to do with a shoot bolt that was jammed. We had the door open within in 5minutes and from there we stripped out the old bolt and replaced the old MPL mechnism. Door back working good as new with one very happy customer. 

Door fixes in Sevenoaks - 17/09/21 

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks were called out to diagnose some issues with a collection of doors at a flat in Sevenoaks. We quickly solved an issue with some sagging hinges on the main door. Further inspection led us to find an issue with some french doors on their balcony. We have collected videos and will need to analyse further the course of the lock problem. We also have a part of order to fix an issue with a jammed slave door that is stuck lock. 

Brisant repair in Sevenoaks - 03/09/21

Lockforce Locksmith Sevenoaks recieved a job from our head office team after a client was looking to have his Ultion lock assessed. We attended and made a minor adjustment to have the lock and door back functioning.
