Replacing faulty lock on the front door of a Omagh home - 2nd August 2022

Our office at Omagh received a call from a lady that was having difficulty locking her front door. We made an arrangement to be with her later that day as they needed to be secure before evening time. Once we arrived it was clear that the cam inside the cylinder had become twisted. (this normally occurs when there is something holding the other side of the chamber i.e. a key in the other side). We removed the faulty cylinder to inspect any gearbox damage and unfortunately there was damage to the internal turn of the gearbox, which was probably caused by excess use while the cylinder was twisted. Fortunately, we had a brand new Versa anti-snap euro cylinder to replace the twisted one and replaced their faulty gearbox with a brand-new like for like. Once again, our customers receive a 12 month no quibble guarantee on parts and workmanship. All safe and secure once more.

Omagh locksmith night latch and rim cylinder replacement - 25th July 2022

We had a call to our Omagh office from a customer looking to have a rim cylinder checked and possibly replaced. As usual with Omagh Lockforce we arrived promptly and upon inspection the front door rim cylinder was indeed faulty as the key would need a 'wiggle in and out' and would sometimes get stuck. Without hesitation we replaced both the rim cylinder and the nightlatch (at the customer's request). This customer did exactly right. Once you're unsure on whether your lock is faulty or getting worn it probably is time to call the experts. It does save money! This job could have been a lot more expensive had the lock failed completely, thankfully our customer had the foresight to get this sorted . They now have a brand-new lock with nightlatch and are once again safe and secure.
 

Back door handles causing problems for elderly resident - 20th July 2022

Our Omagh office had a call from an elderly customer that was having problems with their rear door lock/handles. When we arrived, we were informed by the lady that the Housing Executive came round to fix it the previous day but it wasn't one of their original doors i.e. it was 3rd party. As they couldn't/wouldn't fix the door the left her with a length of wood to prop under the door handle to 'keep he safe'! Our engineer stated that if she told us the day before he would have secured the house immediately whether they had the money or not. We pride ourselves on 'keeping you safe' and that would have not been any problem. So, without any delay we fixed the door and replaced the faulty cylinder and as always, we only use anti-snap as standard. Our customer is once more safe and secure. Shame on the housing department!

French doors jammed shut in Omagh - 15th July 2022

Lockforce Omagh received a call from a customer that was having problems opening their rear French doors. This is common as these doors fully opened wouldn't be used for the winter time but as the warm weather is coming in we want to open up and let summer in. The reason they don't always work is usually because of the one door being in use 365 days a year but the other one is just used for the warmer weather. Therefore, one side gets more traffic (people pushing down on the one side and not the other) putting the doors out of alignment. A simple re-alignment process will normally fix this issue as it was in this case. But if this was to be left the whole door lining will make it harder and harder to close and eventually affecting the mechanism and/or the cylinder leading to a more expensive repair. If your windows or doors don't feel right to you then they probably aren't right, call in the experts to save money. Both doors are now working as they should letting the summer air in.

Lock change and security survey in Omagh - 2nd July 2022

Our Omagh office received a call from a gentleman concerned with his front door lock, he stated he wanted a different type. Going with this information we proceeded to the job. We were quite pleased to be informed that the customer had and old thumbturn lock fitted which we strongly advise against as it really isn't suitable for a house with a letterbox and a glass window surrounding. We were also asked to check the customers other locks doors and windows which were all fine with a couple just needing a grease. Our customer is now even more safe with a Versa anti-snap cylinder with a 12-month guarantee.

Improving home security with dual lock changes to front and back doors in Omagh - 24th June 2022

On Monday morning we received a call to our Omagh offices with a request to change their front and rear locks. Upon arrival the customer informed us that they were at a family gathering and somebody took their keys and it was probably a family member. How bad is that! We changed the worried customers locks promptly and wished them the best of luck. One thing off of the customers mind is that all our products and workmanship comes with a 12 month guarantee. At least that's something.

Securing window before couple left for their holiday - 21st June 2022

We have had a few jobs this week in Omagh. Some lock changes and door alignments but one job sticks in mind. An elderly couple were due to leave for their holiday the next day when they contacted us to inform us that they had been let down at the last minute by another locksmith. This was worrying for the couple as it was for 2 faulty window locks (one was stuck open). As usual in this situation we arrived ASAP (later that day). Upon inspection, one window had lost keys and the other had a seized mechanism. The window with the lost keys was picked open and we replaced the handle with 2 spare keys. The window stuck open was different as we had no spare mechanism, in this case we by-passed the mechanism by fitting a cockspur handle. A new mechanism will be fitted once our customers return from their lovely holiday. Safe once again.

Triple lock change throughout property in Omagh - 13th June 2022

This job from Omagh Co. Tyrone was from a customer requiring 3 locks changed that had started to become faulty at more or less the same time. Upon arrival the doors were all important access doors. One lock was on the rear door accessing the utility room, one was from the garage to the utility room and the third was from the utility room to the kitchen. All doors were wooden and currently had the same 15-year-old 3 lever sash lock installed. The shapes and sizes haven't changed too much over the years making it a fairly easy install with some adjustments on the doors and the keeps. If you feel any resistance or difference in your locks, follow this customers lead and get them looked at by a professional before it's too late!!

Same-day lock change for client in Omagh - 6th June 2022

We had a call from an elderly lady in Omagh asking for a replacement lock for her front door. We arrived later that day to inspect and change over. This job was for a thumb turn lock replacement which we wouldn't normally recommend due to the ease they can be turned simply from a tiny reach through there letterbox. The lady explained her struggle to use a key due to arthritis in her hands, we advised that the next best option is to install a letterbox guard (which prevents any reach in and up through the door). This is obviously an extra price but only a tiny price compared to which is in your house, some of which is priceless!

Affordable solution to lock problem in Omagh - 30th May 2022

Our Omagh office had a call from a family that were having trouble with their front door lock. It wasn't locking. This type of job is always a priority for us at Lockforce as security is our business. We quickly arrived and started our investigation of this troublesome door. We started a process of elimination and soon found the problem. The gearbox was becoming jammed and was looking like a potentially expensive replacement gearbox. As we continued to inspect the gearbox a piece of 'debris' fell out from within the mechanism (not part of the workings). Telling a relieved customer that we found the solution and it's not going to be expensive can be a nice feeling especially in these difficult times. As always everything was checked over and greased. New locks for filing cabinet at office in Omagh - 20th May 2022

We had a call to our Omagh office to enquire about a lock for a filing cabinet which has a missing key. Normally we can get a replacement key by taking a code but on this occasion it wasn't available. We will always prevail to get a job completed even though sometimes it can be difficult sourcing the parts. So, after a couple of days of searching we finally found our part, swiftly had it dispatched to our offices and then just as swiftly we arrived at the location of said cabinet to promptly (not swiftly) install their brand-new cabinet lock. Now all their files are safe under lock and key once again.

Door jammed shut eventually freed open in Omagh - 10th May 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Omagh recieved a call from a customer that was unable to open there door. We arrived to inspect the problem and it turned out to be a helpful relative tried to 'repair' there lock/mechanism.  Unfortunatly it proved to make it worse as certain screws that shouldn't be removed from the mechanism were removed making the internal workings mis-align and therefore getting stuck in the door keep. This was now a messy problem but with the help the customer we managed to free up the hooks and bolts that were stuck. Everything on the gearbox (mechanism) was completely rebuilt once removed and once again working properly and smoothly.

Emergency lock change in Omagh - 4th May 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Omagh recently helped a customer who needed their locks changed ASAP because of a domestic fallout. Our customers are always a priority and in this case even more so. All locks were changed within 30 mins of our phone call. All locks are now protected by anti-snap. We sincerly hope that its never ever needed but customer safety is always our number one priority.

MPL failure required replacement part in Omagh -  April 2022

We were contacted by a local gentleman who informed us that his front/side door wasn't latching or locking completely. Upon arrival it was clear his MPL system had broken in a big way. The bottom part of the MPL had broken away from the hook and bolt locks and the latch from the gearbox had snapped off completely. We left the customer with an emergency overnight lock while we found and ordered a new one. Once the new one had arrived it was clear that the hook and bolt points were positioned differently from the original. We informed the customer that there will be extra work to align it up but assured him that it will be all safe and secure once finished. Also it became evident that theoriginal handle size was wrong which in my opinion caused the damage in the first place over some years. The brand new MPL and keeps were fitted and a Versa adjustable set of handles were also fitted as this MPL had an unusual size of 95mm. The customer was very pleased and fairly impressed.

Emergergency lock change in Omagh -  April 2022
Lockforce Locksmith Omagh was called out early by a distressed customer who needed her locks changed ASAP. After reassuring her that everything will be changed and she will be secure once again we arrived within 15mins. Fitting the new locks was fairly straight forward there was a couple of locks that were needing replacing as they were showing signs of weathering and age. Our customer now has every external door to her property fitted with the Versa anti-snap range. Secure once more.

Interior door repair in Omagh - April 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Omagh were contacted by a local resident who told us she has a faulty door handle on one of her interior doors. Upon inspection, indeed both the handles springs had worn but also the latch was also faulty. We were informed that the door was soon to be replaced so it would be better if we just replaced the latch as the handles won't 'sag' with a new latch inserted. So a quick replacement and adjustment with the latch keep and now her door can now shut.

Entry gain to rescue trapped dog in home in Omagh - March 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Omagh took a call from a local resident who explained that he had lost his front door key and the family needed to get to their beloved dog. We arrived within 10mins (being a dog lover makes me go a bit quicker i guess) upon assessment the lock was a basic NON anti-snap euro cylinder (my pet hate!). After we gained entry to the house the family were once again reunited with there beloved dog and i could get to replacing the basic euro which was slightly twisted with a new Versa anti-snap euro cylinder. The man and his family are even more secure with Lockforce on board.

New locks fitted and bolt installed in Omagh - March 2022

Lockforce Locksmith Omagh were called by a repeat customer who needed us to install a door closer for her kitchen as a safety measure for her young child. After going through the options we went for the mortice adjustable chain door closer. I decided upon the Yale chain door closer as its a lot more durable, once i installed and adjusted the chamber and chain we tested to see if it would close from fully open and half open. The door indeed fully closed and latched nicely.

Back door jammed shut in Omagh - 10/03/22

Lockforce Locksmith Omagh were contacted by a lady who reported that her rear door wasn't unlocking or unlatching. After a long inspection and throwing the bolt gate over and pulling the latch we still wasn't opening up. So once we identified which type of gearbox we're dealing with a further 2 tactical holes were made which enabled us to physically see and move both the latch and most importantly the bolt. This a fairly rare case in which a moving part connected to the latch had snapped and was poking out the side of the gearbox which restricts the latch movement and therefore the bolt throw. From here we fitted a brand new gearbox and a Versa anti-snap euro cylinder which works like new once again.

New door knobs and anti-snap lock installed in Omagh - 15/01/22

Lockforce Locksmith Omagh recently had a call from a customer to enquire into whether we could change all of her internal door knobs to a cleaner modern chrome. I ordered in a varied amount of knobsets from dummy (non turning) to turning and also a couple of keyed locking knobs, All in all, the customer was very pleased with the out come as herself and her young family had just had the house decorated to reveal a nice modern look. Happy with her service fom us the customer also asked me to fit a new euro cylinder lock on her house as the original was getting stuck. We upgraded her lock to a Versa anti-snap lock with 5 spare keys!

New garage locks to stop intruders in Omagh - 23/10/21

Lockforce Locksmith Omagh received a call from a client in Omagh who had had her dishwasher stolen from her detached garage overnight and wanted us to attend to secure the garage. We attended that day and on inspection we found that the garage door hadn't had a lock for a number of years. This was particularly worrying for the customer as there were still personal items in there. We fitted a bolt and padlock to the inside garage door. The other access point was the normal door entrance which was only secured with a latch lock. We advised that a deadlock should be fitted which the customer wanted installing as soon as possible. We arrived the next morning fitted & tested the new mortice deadlock and finally the customer feels a lot safer.
