Customer had said its fine in the open position but when door was closed the door wouldn’t lock. We immediately identified it as an alignment issue and when we arrived, we noticed the culprit which we corrected. Customer left a great review on CheckaTrade.

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in by a nearby customer via Facebook who wanted us to unlock their balcony door and repair their door. They had a snapped key in their lock. We removed snapped key and picked the door open. After picking the door open we noticed the lock was very stiff and therefore needed replacing which we replaced like for like.

We arrived, jiggled the key and managed to unlock the door with customers key. We identified the key used was badly cut. Luckily, their spare keys worked perfectly in the lock saving customer money.

Internal handle repair - CM19 - 13/03/2024

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow attended a customers home who needed 2 internal handles looked at as they were loose and falling apart. One of the handles needed replacing which customer had spares to install. The other the screws were loose due to holes in door bigger then screws. A bit of carpentry was needed to fill in holes and screw handles back on to be more secure.

Lock changes, mech repairs, fresh fit locks and more - CM19 - 22/02/2024

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in by a local family run business to help them secure their warehouse. They were victims of an unfortunate event so wanted to replace their locks and install fresh locks on to a couple of doors internally. We started off by replacing their external locks. 6 in total however one of the doors we had to gain entry to first as they had lost keys to them. Also, some of the locking mechanisms were faulty and needed replacing. After replacing faulty mechs we installed the new cylinders and thumbturn. We then moved onto the internal doors. We noticed 2 of their doors did not meet fire regulations and so needed to be converted. First was an office sash lock which needed converting to a euro lock with a thumbturn. 2nd was a hallway door which had a deadlock. After converting both doors to meet fire regulations we moved on to 2 doors without any locks installed. First, we installed a fresh euro deadlock to an office door. New escutcheons and cylinder installed. Same was installed on another hallway door. All doors now meet fire regulations. 

2 gain entries and a lock change - CM18 - 13/02/2024

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in by a repeat customer who needed us to unlock 2 of their doors and replace one of the locks. First lock was the rear upvc door which needed unlocking as they had misplaced the keys. We gained entry and replaced lock for a snap safe cylinder. Second door was the sliding internal door. Customer just needed the door unlocked without needing a replacement. Both doors unlocked and cylinder replaced within 30 minutes.

Front door handle repair - CM17 - 12/02/2024

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in by a loyal customer who needed their front door handle looked at. The handle kept getting loose. We arrived and repaired the handle. We also took at the rear door mechanism which the customer was complaining was getting stiff. We greased it up for the customer and its now as a good as new.

Mechanism repair - CM18 - 09/02/2024

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in by a very local customer who found us from google to help resolve their front door issues. They complained their front door lock was getting stiffer to lock and unlock. We arrived to find a very old obsolete mechanism. Luckily all that was needed was for the mechanism to be removed and cleaned/greased thoroughly to bring it back to good locking order. Customer was an elderly lady who understandably was worried about costs so we was very happy that there wasnt a more serious issue.

Door locking issues - CM19 - 21/01/2024

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was called out late evening to attend a home where the customer had snapped a key in their lock. Luckily, they weren’t locked out however customer attempted to repair themselves. They removed all screws for the multipoint and cylinder and couldn’t get mechanism back together and snapped key was still in the lock. We arrived shortly after the call and first thing was to remove the snapped key. We successfully removed snapped key however lock was faulty which we replaced like for like. We also reinstalled the mechanism for customer leaving her door back to good locking order.

Nuki smart lock installation - CM19 - 18/01/2024

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in by a repeat customer who wanted to install a Nuki smart lock for their front door. This was the missing piece for the customer as they can control most things in their home remotely. After advising on what smart lock is best for the customers’ needs, he booked me in. I arrived removed current lock and handles and installed the new smart lock. Customer can now control their front door lock remotely.

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was called to attend a customer who had a stuck key in their front door leaving them vulnerable. We arrived to this local customer within 10 minutes. Few minutes later we was able to remove the stuck key. To prevent a reoccurrence we put some special powder on the high security key.

Handle replacement - CM19 - 11/01/2024

They had a twin spindle mechanism and lever pad handles which we swapped for lever lever handles. We have also arranged for a second visit as customer has opted to get a smart lock. Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was called out by a local customer late in the evening to help them back into their home. They had a yale connexis smart lock on their front door that failed. A 9v battery would not override the lock so only option was to look for an alternative door to gain entry to. We climbed over the fence to gain entry to rear door. Customer also wanted a lock upgrade so we replaced their back door lock with a 3* plus euro cylinder.

Whilst putting their cylinder back in the door we recognised a fault with it which may have caused the mech to fail in the first instance. Immediately I knew the cam had slipped on the lock meaning a new lock had to replace it. We removed old lock and installed a snap safe lock in its place.

On arrival I checked the lock and mechanism which were in good working order but the door was out of alignment which caused the door to be tough to unlock hence the key snapping. Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was called out by a customer whose mother was locked out their home. Owner of home was abroad but their mother was looking after their home. They had the key but when door in unlocked position door wasnt opening. We noticed the door had dropped and therefore bolts wasnt retracting. After lifting the door up the door managed to open. Due to the condition of the door, the door needed a carpenter to take the door off and re position in.

We arrived at the property met by the estate agent who gave the keys however the rear door key was missing. To prevent this ever happening again the company wanted me to check and service all their locks. After we did this, they wanted me to check out their cage in the yard which had a digital lock. The cage was in poor condition which prevented the door from closing. After a few adjustments, the door was closing smoother than ever.

Lock mech replacement - CM18 - 06/07/2023

We arrived and noticed the gearbox was faulty and needed replacing. The gearbox in question was obsolete however we were able to replace it there and then using an alternative gearbox. We arrived within 20 minutes and could see the issue straight away. The escutcheon was causing an obstruction. After removing the escutcheon, we released the key and checked the cylinder for any damages. We advised the customer that in the future the cylinder will need replacing however customer opted to change it now for peace of mind.

After some slight adjustments the window was able to lock and unlock as it should. Customer also asked if we could take a look at a couple of rear doors for them. On one of the doors just a couple of screws needed tightening after they had become loose preventing the shoot bolt entering its keep when in locked position. We removed the cylinder and euro sashlock on their aluminium front door and identified that both needed replacing. The customer originally had a previous locksmith remove the multi point lock from the door and replaced with a temporary lock however customer wasn't happy her home wasn't secure enough and couldn't wait for the original locksmith to come back to repair it. After many failed call attempts to the original locksmith the customer called me and we arrived first thing the next morning. We removed the faulty gearbox and replaced it like for like the same day.

Fresh fit mortice lock installation - CM20 - 14/12/2022

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in to add a 3-lever mortice lock to a customer’s very old rear door. On arrival we noticed all that was installed in their rear door were some very old handles and the door was in very poor condition. No spindle connected the 2 handles. It was very visible a mortice lock was once installed in this door but all holes had been filled. Customer opted to go for a 3 lever mortice lock as they had plans to change door in near future. We created the insert for the mortice lock and holes for the spindle and key. After delicately installing the new mortice lock we then installed the brand new handles. 

Front lock and handle installation - CM20 - 11/12/2022

On arrival we noticed no lock or handles were visible due to a family dispute and after getting the ‘all clear’ from the local authorities we installed the lock and handles to secure the property.

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was called out to a home struggling to lock their patio door. We arrived within 30 minutes and began work straight away. We noticed the gearbox and multipoint were both faulty. As customer had an ERA vectis gearbox these are known to fail so we suggested changing it to a euro gearbox. Customer agreed so we removed old handles and gearbox. We created new holes to fit the euro cylinder once the new gearbox was installed. After installing the new gearbox we installed new handles to accommodate the new mechanism and then added the euro cylinder. Door now fully operating to customers’ requirements.

Emergency entry gain - CM18 - 07/10/2022

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was called out by 2 young ladies worried about the well being of their nan. Luckily at the time we was less than 10 minutes away. After quickly assessing the property I noticed the best and quickest way to enter the home was via the back door which meant climbing over the side brick wall. Once over the wall we got in within minutes and let the young ladies in to locate their nan. Thankfully their nan was fine and just overslept.

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in to a family who had just moved in to their new home. They had an issue with one of their windows which they believed the handle was at fault. We attended the property to find it was in fact the window strip at fault and needed replacing. As there are many brands, shapes and sizes of the window mech, we had to order the part in which the customer was happy to wait for. Lucky for the customer we do not charge a call out fee even if the problem can't be resolved on the same day or if they decide not to have the work done. Rebooked the customer in once the part arrived and completed the job. We also installed a new handle with a key for added safety as they had a small child. Multi point lock and handle replacement in Harlow, CM20 - 26/08/2022

Lockforce locksmiths Harlow was booked in to a house where their multi point lock system had failed. Having taken the strip off the door we had realised it was a split spindle multi point lock and if we was to replace like for like it would be impossible as the item in question had been discontinued. Luckily there was an alternative multi point lock which meant changing the handles of the door to share the same spindle. Installed new multi point lock system and new handles. Door can now lock and close perfectly.

Key safe removal and replacement - CM17 - 26/08/2022

As customer didn't know the code of the old key safe we had to gain entry in order to remove off the wall. Once removed we replaced it with a brand new Supra key safe. After the installation we helped the customer create a memorable key code and demonstrated how to open and close the key safe. Watched customer open and close the key safe many times before leaving to make sure they understood how it works.
